I’ve never considered myself a fan of cigarettes. Smoking has always been something I really didn’t want to do for a long time. I didn’t think I needed to quit, and I didn’t want to quit to be able to smoke, I just really didn’t want to. Now I’ve had a couple of cigs, and I’m not a smoker at all. But it’s still hard to quit.

So, the next time you have a cig, make a note in your calendar and record when you last smoked.
That’s not to say that the nicotine-induced compulsion to continue smoking can’t be stopped. But it might be a little easier to simply leave one cigarette burning after you’ve had one.
